Hi, I’m Sam!
I’m a graphic designer currently working for the local government here in Victoria B.C.
I’m originally from North Bay, Ontario, where I started out in the working world as a practical nurse in 2015, but never felt quite fulfilled. Growing up as a creative child, I knew deep down that an artistic career was calling my name.
After a few unexpected life changes, I sold my furniture, packed up my car and drove across the country to start fresh on Vancouver Island.
I graduated from the Pacific Design Academy in 2018 and went on to work for companies such as Baked Edibles Inc, Victoria Event Centre, 420 Consulting Ltd, and the Capital Regional District. (Not to mention a plethora of non-design jobs throughout the journey! From retail, cleaning, and slingin’ coffee, I’ve got a story or two to tell.)
Some of my favourite things include: digital illustration, icon design, document layout, my cat Luna, The Office and Gilmore Girls (I think I’m on my 20th re-watch of both… yikes!) the ocean, camping, climbing, DND, sci-fi/horror movies, video games, and coffee. Lots and lots of coffee.
Goals: In 2024 I’ve started dabbling in music-making, and really want to pair it with cute pixel art scenes. Eventually I would like to create my own video game. From programming, music, artwork, story - the whole nine yards.
